Introduction

Thinking about visiting Hamilton but didn't think there were many green spaces left here or are you a long time resident who wants to explore nature in your own "backyard"? This colour, 16 page booklet provides a map and list of where to go to see birds, butterflies, reptiles and amphibians, where to find the best hiking trails, and see the spectacular waterfalls in the Hamilton area which tumble over the Niagara escarpment. The booklet is a guide and an educational tool. It describes the concepts of biodiversity, geology of the escarpment and lists the environmental organizations in the area.
